The Whitetag brand was created by surf lover Kent Stannard who lives on Victoria’s southern coast. His passion for the ocean and sharks bought him together with some of Australia’s pre-eminent marine scientist to tag and track the great white shark to better understand this often maligned species.
The Whitetag logo combines a shark fin and a barcode to represent shark tagging and scanning. A range of educational items including posters and swing tags were developed as part of the initial brief.
The Whitetag brand has expanded into a coastal clothing range, helping to further boost funds needed for shark research. As part of the retail offering Kylie Pye Design has produced designs for caps, t-shirts and shirt prints. Point of sale items designed include swing tags, shirt wraps, clothing tags and patches. All retail designs have a coastal vintage feel to represent the rugged coastline Whitetag represents.
